Crowdfunding community platform WeCare Card was started after the company’s founder went through the experience of receiving help from neighbors in a time of medical need. She found that despite the good intentions and gifts, what she needed most — was cash. Her model: a reloadable debit card, to which friends, family and community contributed, which could then be used by recipients however they chose.
WeCare Card tapped Torque to position, brand and launch the community platform, a hybrid crowdfunding and card payment offering.
Torque developed the logo mark, brand website for investors, overview animation, and marketing awareness resource kit for consumers using the fundraising services.
Torque then developed the editorial calendar and launched the social media activation program, which included building Twitter community and followers, Facebook community and interaction. We launched with an influencer campaign that engaged "mommy bloggers" to reach out to readers to try the service.
Phase II following the market test pilot included developing the ecommerce and community functions of the site to allow users to set up their unique crowdfunding campaigns, post news and information about their need, build an awareness for their campaign and display progress.
Following the successful pilots, The company is in the 3rd round of funding, with the goal of 10,000 funded campaigns.
